The carbon emission of the Koru belt has been calculated in collaboration with Doconomy and the 2030 Calculator. The entire carbon emission of this belt includes the mining for metals of the buckles, all production and transportation and also the methane emissions during the animal’s lifespan. Dehanche has calculated the carbon emission as 39.27kg CO2e, or 0.04 tons. Based on the recommendation of Doconomy, we have benchmarked our internal carbon tax at $130 per ton. For each belt purchased, we are committed to investing $1 in decarbonization microprojects in collaboration with Milkywire’s Climate Transformation Fund.
